Headteacher’s Blog 3rd December 2021

Christmas has arrived with bells and whistles! Mrs John gathered us all in the hall this week for service to read to us the Christmas Nativity story. Unknown to her the cheeky elves had made a special appearance and are well and truly up to their usual tricks!

Pupils have been wonderful singing this week, lots of choices from the children themselves. Feliz Navidad really is our favourite!

This week in Branwen we have been continuing to make our Christmas transport using measuring and creative skills. These will hopefully help Father Christmas on his journey!

Our letters to Father Christmas are taking shape and we are at the editing stage before we write our final versions!

In Expressive Arts this week, we have continued our music skill development and have started making Christmas Bells. We are all very proud of what we have done so far.

We have been busy singing and enjoying hearing the story of Baby Jesus.

A busy week in Nant Ddraig, Christmas is shining in the class with stars and lights and Mr Samuel's Christmas shirts! Pupils have worked hard on their Haiku poem linking it to Kensuke's Kingdom. They have been focusing on their carbon footprint with Mrs John. They have all set themselves goals, one for themselves, one for their family and one for school. Their actions are super and they have taken this very seriously.

Year 5 and 6 have begun their Leadership and Coaching delivered by Dragon Sports. This will enable them to develop vital skills in confidence, independence, planning and coaching! They will be able to plan and deliver fun games at playtime’s to all our pupils. This will continue to develop through the year. Thank you and a big well done to Jac for sharing his football trophy win with his class, it is so good to hear of our pupils achievements outside of school time.

Congratulations to Erin for being awarded Brennin yr Wythnos for our value ‘Wisdom’. Her efforts have been fantastic! Da iawn pawb!

Mrs John and the school council have been busy creating the advent wreath - wow this looks amazing! It ended up so large that they had to find a special place for it on its own table!

A huge thank you to Mrs Whitehead and Miss William’s for planning a wonderful Christmas Craft evening in After School Club! The crafts were beautiful and pupils really enjoyed themselves. We can’t wait for next week!

Could Junior pupils please remember their Christmas jumpers on Monday to be left in school for the week please. Have a lovely weekend :)
