Headteacher’s Blog 29th January 2021

I hope everyone enjoyed the snow at the weekend and on Monday.

Many apologies that I didn’t catch up with everyone collecting their paper teaching packs on Monday. That is usually a nice opportunity to find out how everyone is and get feedback on the Home learning activities. I have seen a few families at other times during the week.

Thank you so much for all the positive feedback.

I do need to continue saying thank you as everyone is trying so hard to engage with the learning and support their children. The teachers work so hard at putting everything together.

When you teach, it is always lovely to see children’s eyes light up with enthusiasm and interest when you introduce a topic. The teachers no longer see this reaction until they see the lovely work produced as a result.

It was brilliant to get an email to say that Miss Robert’s Google classroom had linked to ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ and that one parent and child had been inspired to buy the book to read the rest of the story. The same email also gave positive feedback about the Cosmic Yoga. Well done Miss Roberts promoting a healthy mind and body.

I really enjoy a Friday, and not just to get to the weekend although that is a plus point. I really enjoy being told which Superstars have been chosen for a Headteacher’s Award. This is always a very tricky choice for the teachers as we have such brilliant hardworking pupils.

Thank you to our Church Community for spreading more love around our village! I love the Santes Dwynwen display outside the Church and the lovely offer of love hearts.

I was really pleased with the announcement this morning that they are aiming to reopen schools for the younger pupils after half term. I am trying not to get too excited yet though. I am very conscious that they also consider rates at a local level.
