Headteacher’s Blog 23rd October 2020

This feels like a major celebration. We have had a very happy half term in school, with no major challenges.

The children have as far as I can see, thoroughly enjoyed their time in school. I would like to say thank you to our very talented staff who have gone above and beyond expectations to make sure everyone has felt safe and cared for on their return to school. The school staff have had to deal with new challenges and have done so with a smile. I have been really impressed with everyone. The Risk Assessment procedures have been successful.

Our main focus on the return to school has been pupil well-being and I have seen smiling happy faces throughout the half term.

I am sure the children will enjoy their week off despite lock-down. Please do send photos if you think your child/ children have worked hard at something. It would be lovely to share on Twitter or the Blog.

We have had a positive end to the half term in school. Everyone visited Church with Harvest offerings. I went with the Foundation Phase pupils, I really enjoyed the visit. The children had really missed attending. You could see the look of awe and wonder as they looked around the Church. Mrs John discussed all the special things that could be found in the Church.  They really tested her knowledge with all their questions.

The children have asked to visit again after the half term break. I think we will have to choose a nice day to visit the graveyard as well.

Have a lovely half term everyone, I hope everyone enjoys some quality time.
