Headteacher’s Blog 20th July 2022 ~ Celebrating the end of a brilliant year.

We have so much to celebrate in our lovely school.

A big well done to our very special Year 6s we made everyone extremely proud at the Leavers Service yesterday.  This really was a celebration as we are so proud of all their achievements.

They had brilliant back up support from all their friends in Dosbarth Nant Ddraig.  The Service was enjoyed by all and we were so glad to welcome families and members of the community to join us.

At the end of the service, we presented the awards to our Year 6s.

Samuel - True Values

Being a year 6 is always a momentous year of any individual's life. In Ysgol Nannerch, it is even more important because you are a visible example to the whole school. To our school, the values are extremely important. Developing the children to be fantastic citizens is vital. Samuel, in the last year and all through his school life, has demonstrated excellent values and been an exemplary model for all around him.

Alfie - Sports Champion

This service has been about the importance of perseverance. There tends to be one thing that can jump to people's minds when they think of perseverance; and is sports. In order to excel in sports, there needs to be a combination of skill, hard-work, and determination. Alfie has consistently shown these skills during his school life in Ysgol Nannerch and outside of school playing for Mold Rugby team. Alfie so deserves his trophy award for Sports Champion.

Orla - Inspiration

A vital skill to have when you are in year 6 is to be able to give guidance and to encourage others to follow your lead. Not only does the rest of the school look up to you, but your fellow peers seek guidance from you at times. You have been a wonderful example to them and are an inspiration to us all.

We also presented our leavers hoodies to Year 6, which they promptly wore when they returned to school despite the heat! It was lovely to welcome everyone back to school for some refreshments.  A big thank you to Mrs John for creating the wall of fame for the Year 6s and for making the hall look so inviting on such a hot day.

Everyone managed to successfully navigate the very hot day yesterday and today.  We were appreciative of our lovely cool building. A big thank you to staff for doing such a good job of keeping everyone safe and hydrated. It was a super end to the day with our pupils donating their lettuce, herbs and carrots that they have grown this year. Mrs Barlow and pupils have really enjoyed the challenge. We are looking forward to another harvest during the Autumn term.

We wish Mr Hills, Miss McCormick and Mr Samuels every best wish as they move forward with their future careers. We will continue to see them in school but we will miss seeing them as often.

Can I say a very big thank you to our Families for all the support you have given us during this year. Thank you for the very kind gifts.

A big thank you to all the staff for being supportive. They have worked hard and been stars as always.

The learners have had a very successful year and thoroughly deserve their holiday! Have a wonderful time all.
