A very big thank you to Parents for all your support this term. We really appreciate all your support. We know this is a challenging time for everyone. Our Families have done a brilliant job of supporting our learners whilst doing their utmost to keep everyone in the school community safe.
We have faced challenges, but our learners have had a successful term with lots of praise from the Schools Improvement Advisor during her Learning Scrutiny. Well done everyone. A big thank you to all the Staff who have supported so well in managing any challengesin School. Everything has been seamless - with no impact on learners.
I would also like to thank my Governors for all their hard work behind the scenes. The Chair and Vice Chair of Governors Mr Roberts and Mrs Moore are always available to advise as we navigate our way through these difficult times.
Nadolig really is here in Ysgol Nannerch. What a Christmassy week! We have had fun and festivities all the way. The Dosbarth Nant Ddraig Christmas fair has been fabulous. The Learners have adapted so well managing all of this themselves and not relying on Parents. Everyone has been so impressed with their planning and preparation. They organised everything with guidance and support from staff. They managed the fair from the very start- they took responsibility and demonstrated maturity throughout. A huge success and great fun for all.
The Christmas crafts are amazing as always. I have got a very dedicated, talented team who support the Learners in all they do. Everyone is so positive, they offer guidance in a constructive manner and this leads to happy, engaged and creative learners. You can see that from all that has been achieved this week. I am so proud of everyone!
I have loved seeing their Christmas jumpers and outfits. Everyone has happy smiles. They definitely deserve their party. Lots of us teachers look great today with our Christmas jumpers etc. Mr Hills looked impressive yesterday in a Sprout suit. However, the Nantlwys Federation festive snappy dresser prize for 2021 is awarded to Mr Samuels dressed as Sion Corn – Father Christmas!
We did have some other really important award to celebrate. A lovely suggestion from pupils to give the money raised at the fair to charity. Callum wanted to donate to Clare House, Children’s Hospice Wrexham and Isobelle and Emily suggested Alder Hey, Children’s hospital. We were impressed at their consideration for others.
We had our Brenin yr Wythnos. Mrs John chose two – Phoebe and Gwyn. Mr Samuels had chosen ‘We three Kings again…’ the three Year 6 pupils Orla, Samuel and Alfie. We also had a special Governor’s Award for Erin. She has achieved so much with Erin’s eggs - donating the gorgeous Christmas tree to school.
Thank you to After School Club staff for organising another fun Film night with pizza and ice cream. Well done also for accessing a Sustainability Grant to help us through this challenging period.
I hope home learning goes well on Monday and Tuesday, this isn’t how we would have liked to end the term. All pupils have been sent home Christmas activity packs for these 2 days.
We have two planning days after Christmas to respond to any Welsh Government recommendations to keep everyone Covid safe. We will wait for further information from the Welsh Government as we move forward.
I wrote this blog- then as staff we were presented with a lovely box of goodies and an envelope which we opened together after school. We really appreciate this and we will organise a treat one evening, so kind.
The day ended well with Miss Roberts popping into school for an outdoor visit to introduce baby Willa to Staff. Willa is gorgeous, taking notice of all around her. Miss Roberts looked really well, and wonderfully relaxed.
Can I wish our lovely families a Wonderful Christmas and Best wishes for 2022. Nadolig llawen i chi gyd.
Thank you so much -Diolch yn fawr iawn!
