We had a lovely start to the week as Mrs Roberts our Schools Improvement Advisor and one of the Governors Mrs Yeardley were coming to speak to the children about their work in school. They started their day in Nannerch in the morning and I then accompanied them to Nercwys in the afternoon.
I was so proud of our learners across both schools. Our visitors thoroughly enjoyed their day and were really positive about their experience with our pupils. A big well done to the children the visitors chose to speak to. They really made their teachers proud!
I was on a First Aid Course on Tuesday. I was so disappointed to miss the Eisteddfod, the Teachers told me it was fabulous. I loved watching all the singing practice and creative work. Mrs Pierce has created a fantastic display of the work in the corridor. It looks really special.
The leeks were wonderfully creative, thanks Mrs John for the video clip of them all.
We had a visitor in school this morning who loved the display.
The Early Years pupils especially were so proud of their work for the Eisteddfod. They have loved all the activities they have completed with Mrs Whitehead and Mrs Barlow especially the outdoor play.
Dosbarth Branwen have been enjoying some activites on the Great Pet Sale. They have been finding out prices for pets from the 'Great Pet Sale'. They have also started our ‘How to look after pets posters’. They learnt lots of Welsh around this theme. I also love seeing them read ‘Darllen gyda Sam’
They have also been looking at recording data through tally charts, pictograms and bar charts - finding out our theirclass friend's favourite pets. They have been thinking about Daniel in the Lion’s Den in Religion. Creating lion faces and sequencing the story. They have also been re telling the story whilst being filmed.
As always one of the highlights is always being on the bikes and trikes. A busy but enjoyable week.
Some of the children took part in Wellies in the Wood alongside some new friends from Nercwys.
Dosbarth Nant Ddraig have had a brilliant week. They enjoyed lots of activities with Mrs Pierce on Monday, Eisteddfod on Tuesday and Robinwood on Wednesday. What a week. Everyone sounds as if they really enjoyed every minute of their day. I think every minute was certainly filled with lots of fun and also challenging activities.
A very big thank you to Mrs John, Mr Hills and Mrs Williams for accompanying them! They all looked very tired returning but everyone had a fantastic time. Everyone was tired but buzzing about the experience as they came off the bus. The centre staff were extremely complimentary about our children.
Every single photo shows what a good time they had!
We also had another lovely treat as the children’s artwork has been returned from the exhibition. It is so impressive. Our masterpiece is based on a very impressive Rowan tree in Penycloddiau. All of their work has been combined to create a wonderful depiction of it. It has been on display in Knighton and Loggerheads and has now been given to school.
We need to decide where to put it so that this special art work has pride of place.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
