Gwydion Year 5 & 6

For the last three weeks everyone has worked really hard. We finished work on shapes, comparing and estimating volume, and revised co ordinates in one and four quadrants.

We used numeracy skills to solve some interesting questions in our science lessons too, involving some very big numbers and lots of multiplication.

Everyone presented their homework on Guy Fawkes, such detail, and peer assessed. After a lot of discussion we agreed steps to success for our next task, a talk to the class in the New Year; details on Google Classroom.

We have read some excellent book reviews and written our own on Cloud Busting, one of our class books. All the children helped create a colourful tree which finished the lovely display in the classroom. As a whole school we have read 'Refuge', the story of Mary and Joseph escaping to Egypt. We decided to write a short drama which we will perform in our Christmas Service.

We now hope to be able to finish off our Christmas craft including the wooden stars started in Forest School, cut, sanded, drilled and glued!

I hope everyone is able to have an enjoyable Christmas holiday and look forward to the new term in 2021. Nadolig Llawen.
