Branwen 3rd October

This week we have been concentrating on our fine motor skills and developing our muscles to support pencil grip.

Yr 1 and 2 had a visit from Don’t Touch Tell puppet company who delivered an interactive show all about keeping us safe. We loved Charlie and Sammy the seal!

We have been enjoying retelling the story of Handa using expression and interesting vocabulary with actions to help us remember.

We were then able to start creating our story maps which will help us write the story of Handa.

In Maths we have played Maths of the Day using colour sorting in Reception and number bonds to 10 and 20 in Yr 1 and 2. This is a fun practical lesson using maths as a focus!

Nursery have had fun playing games with Mrs Whitehead and developing their gross motor skills.

We climbed into our planes and zoomed across the world from Nannerch to Africa using Google Maps! We worked in talking partners to look at picture cards which were a variety of urban and rural places. We were so surprised to see that Africa has busy and quiet places, just like Wales. Reception enjoyed finding picture cards which were hidden outside, they discovered cold and hot countries.

In Forest School we entered our African Village making African houses out of sticks and clay masks. We will continue this next week and we are hoping to light a small fire to cook an African recipe.

Thank you to everyone who came to our North East Wales Digital Trail Launch on Tuesday. We really enjoyed showing to our community what we had achieved in less than a year. The app is now live for all to use and enjoy! We will be adding to it this term and if anyone would like to develop an area of Nannerch, please get in touch!
